Aha! I think we're both right. Or both wrong Sareitha Sedai Send a noteboard - 23/09/2011 07:16:42 PM
...I've only seen that come up when I'm already on fbook and then it "collects" new posts instead of shifting the feed and I have to click to see them. I've never seen that upon first logging in, just the top stories at the top which I have to either scroll past or click each to un-check them as top stories.

You'd probably know that if you had read their explanation :P (Kidding).

I haven't had a Facebook window open since this morning. I just brought one up, and saw this. So I THINK it does it every time. However, I never logged out this morning, and it's the same browser session (just a new tab) so I'm not positive that it does.

If I'm wrong, I apologize. :) This is something that I assumed from personal use, rather than info I took from Facebook's blog.

And they really need to stop using "e-mail me all of this! I CAN NEVER GET ENOUGH MEANINGLESS AND REDUNDANT E-MAILS!!!!" as the default setting for everything :P

Heh, no kidding. I hate email too. I get literally hundreds of work emails a day, so any additional crap is not exactly welcome. :P Still, I just filter everything with the word "Facebook" in it to a folder, and ignore it for the most part. They can change my settings all they want, but their stuff is still staying away from my eyeballs.

I did get that e-mail. But after that I went in and unchecked everything (again) for e-mail notification, so we'll see how long that lasts.

Oh I agree. Facebook has a terrible track record for privacy and listening to customers. I imagine they'll change stuff again before too long. And those are the sort of complaints I can definitely get behind.

It only just appeared for me. I now get the link when I log in along with an explanation ;) that says Your recent stories are now easier to get to. Click or scroll down to see the rest of what's new.
