It means "Stuff" or "Odds and Ends" or "Clutter." That kind of thing.
My mom introduced this one to the family. I guess she knew someone when she was younger who was nicknamed "Scummy Benson." I have no idea why. She started substituting the word "Benson" for the word "Scum." Later, it evolved into a substitution for the word "stuff."
Now everyone in my immediate family says it. Things like "Get out here and clear all this Benson off the table!" or "the workers didn't clean up when they were done and left Benson everywhere!"
I have to really watch myself so I don't say it at work, because no one will know what the hell I'm talking about
