Remember: It was your idea. For that matter I cannot guarantee I am not too elliterate to use even something as simple as AIM even with a basic how to manual ready to hand; I had to be walked through setting up Ventrilo. Does AIM have voice and/or video now, or have you not had it reinstalled long enough to answer that? Not that I am suggesting anything, merely curious.


AIM has had voice chat for, like, a decade or something. I don't know, really, but I do remember talking to Aviendha on AIM many years ago.

If you right click on a Buddy's name and select IM... it will open an IM Windows, click the Options link in the upper right and it has selectables for Start Video Chat and Start Audio Chat. Settings has an Enhanced IM tab for making adjustments to the, uh, Settings.

Cool, thanks. Not that I am likely to use AIM again unless this becomes a regular thing, but it is nice to know. I heard that back in the day ya'll sometimes did the silent movie thing with chat (which sounds kinda weird, but then, I was not there so perhaps it would.) Again, not suggesting anything, just contemplating; having full audio and video would not be very retro, after all.
