... was recently chuffed to discover, via research and writing for my animal blog, that Santa's reindeer must all be female, including Rudolph. They're always shown with antlers, and only the females have antlers at Christmas. The males lose their antlers before then, but females keep theirs through winter and lose them in the summer instead. The reindeer/caribou is the only deer where both sexes have antlers.

Donner, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Comet, Cupid, Blitzen, Vixen, Rudolph. All girls. No wonder they get the big guy around so efficiently.
