... is that if I were Ben, the only way I would do it is if I also put in place a rule that any thread on any board referring to anything that happened in chat, good or bad, for any reason, would be deleted. And anyone who sends a noteboard to me or any other admin complaining about something that happened in chat gets banned from chat forever. No chat admins, big ol' disclaimer that anything said in chat is unmoderated and does not reflect the views of the website, nor can the website be held liable for it, enter at your own risk.

And then I would realize that it would take a bunch of work to set up just to please a few people, that it would cost me extra bandwidth, that people would probably end up complaining about stuff anyway, that it would be more trouble than it was worth, and I'd say no, sorry, tough luck.

But that's just me.
