Paul IS a former Libertarian Party presidential nominee, after all.

Of course, the Republican candidates in this election cycle resemble the Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight. Bachmann, Cain, Perry and Santorum are just embarrassments to the party. Huntsman is a decent guy but not Presidential. Ron Paul is so libertarian I'm surprised he self-identifies as a Republican (though I like a lot of what he says until he goes overboard).
1. You say Huntsman is not Presidential. What is "Presidential?"
2. I'm surprised you're surprised Paul being a Republican. I think you really know that he actually identifies as a Libertarian. But he knows he has zero chance to win the presidency as a Libertarian. He has to indentify as a Republican if he is to have any chance.
I would not expect him to do any better running for president with that party now than he did a decade and a half ago.
But then, I do not expect a pro-life pro-drug-legalization candidate to do well with any party.
That is Pauls problem in a nut shell: In a nation that chooses its president on the basis of who scares it least, he offers something to terrify everyone. Tom and I disagree on a LOT of things (though not everything,) but I also like a lot of what Paul says until he goes overboard; I suspect, however, that Tom and I differ (somewhat) on WHERE Paul goes overboard. In terms of either of us voting for the man though, the specifics of why I will vote for Obama and Tom will vote for Romney do not matter (particularly since those are the men each party will nominate.)

Just because both contain the word "wall" doesn't mean they are the same thing.
