Charming as ever. Ghavrel Send a noteboard - 30/11/2011 05:10:27 PM
So do post politcs somewhere and is that new someone a place where most of the people agree with you?

Currently I don't post anywhere, due to various ongoing issues in my life. When I do post, it is largely on religious and gender matters in the XKCD forums. Being a Christian, I am vastly in the minority in that community. On issues of gender, I am somewhere in the middle. More than being an echochamber, it is a discussion board with active moderation in which certain rules of debate are very heavily enforced. The discussion we have been having would have been deleted long before it reached this point.
"We feel safe when we read what we recognise, what does not challenge our way of thinking.... a steady acceptance of pre-arranged patterns leads to the inability to question what we are told."

/Survey: If this place had a separate politics board like several other sites do, what would happen? - 23/11/2011 10:53:33 PM 919 Views
I wouldn't check that board, that's what would happen - 23/11/2011 11:41:47 PM 674 Views

Political Board = Chat Drama x 9000 *NM* - 24/11/2011 12:13:58 AM 341 Views
I doubt that very much. - 24/11/2011 01:17:07 AM 644 Views
Which is pretty much my point - 24/11/2011 01:40:09 AM 670 Views
I remain unconvinced a few voices can drown out the rest in an internet environment. - 25/11/2011 12:41:05 AM 828 Views
...said the person with the highest post count on the site. *NM* - 27/11/2011 10:30:49 AM 327 Views
Which changes what, exactly? - 27/11/2011 12:05:45 PM 703 Views
the problem with the chat drama is spilled over into everything else - 28/11/2011 05:47:14 PM 635 Views
I'd be interested in CMB again. - 24/11/2011 01:47:00 AM 645 Views
Probably the easiest solution is to have a filter instead, save the new board for a "Writers Board" - 24/11/2011 06:47:33 AM 699 Views
Perhaps - 24/11/2011 09:25:40 AM 632 Views
There are actually a number of simple and effective solutions if this really bugs people - 24/11/2011 06:35:33 PM 801 Views
There is a reason we are seeing so much complaining about politics form certain people - 28/11/2011 05:44:22 PM 615 Views
You're adorable. You're also pretty new to the site, as I recall. - 29/11/2011 12:41:03 AM 572 Views
yes I was refering to you - 29/11/2011 12:37:34 PM 616 Views
Then you should know there are fewer conservatives on the site now. - 30/11/2011 03:41:10 AM 588 Views
I know you didn't study math but look up the word percentage - 30/11/2011 03:12:44 PM 619 Views

If people want to keep the place alive and interesting for themselves then they can do these things: - 24/11/2011 08:51:11 AM 732 Views
The first is no option at all - 24/11/2011 09:24:24 AM 656 Views
It wasn't aimed at you specifically. - 24/11/2011 10:10:05 AM 709 Views
