It's rare to pass on the first try here. (according to driving instructor) Vivien Send a noteboard - 13/12/2011 09:44:39 PM
I had a particularly bad area for the road test, most people fail there. It's bad primarily because although it's a somewhat busy area (and it was certainly busy with cars on my road test) there are no traffic lights at the intersections- just stop signs.

Another reason why it's hard is that the area is a seemingly random configuration of one way and two way streets. There are wide one way streets and narrow 2 way streets and the instructor only tells you "next right" so you have to be aware of what the next right that you can take is and if you should be driving in the center of the street or on the right. [but of course I studied the area ahead of time so I tried to memorize the streets and I did a walking tour of the area as well]

In any case, that does sound like horrible circumstances to have to take your exam in... hope next time goes better, and good luck!

But maybe it depends on the state? And maybe that's not a good thing, judging by the drivers I see out here. I'm here in Texas and I don't know anybody who has ever failed a driving test. Well, except for my sister but she has wrecked every car she has ever driven so she doesn't really count.
