However, Tim and I are just such wonderful people that our baby wants to meet us earlier than planned, so I've now had three trips to hospital for possible pre-term labour. The first was at 24 weeks, the second at 27, and then I went into hospital again on Sunday at nearly 29 weeks.

This was never a problem for us: he didn't want to come out at all, even after three days of trying to induce labor after we'd passed the 40-week mark. Apparently, the first ones like to stay in longer so in light of that I am concerned for you that you've already had three pre-term potential-labors.

One of the midwives at the hospital tried to make me feel better by telling me that lots of women experience what I am and then go on to be two weeks overdue. That didn't make me feel better. :P

All of this is, of course, extremely stressful and induces much anxiety, but we're nearly at the magical 30-week stage so I'm starting to relax more. If baby does come early then it won't be so bad now.

"won't be so bad" isn't the same as "good"... I shall continue to be concerned for the next seven weeks. I'd even pray, if I was spiritual or religious.

Absolutely. :) We're taking each extra day as a blessing now, which is quite nice really. Obviously it would be best if little one stays till the due date, but that's not very likely for us.

I have loads of spare time

LOL, yeah, that won't last. *exhausted*

Heh. I am eating bags of marshmallows and other fun things and trying to enjoy the time because, lo, you speak truth.
