I'm astounded at the level of partisanship in politics today. When I was growing up, people would generally support one party over the other, but rarely did people agree 100% with what their party of affiliation said.

These days, it seems that there is an almost religious devotion to political parties. If a proposal comes from the opposing party, it must ipso facto be wrong, worthy of scorn and anathema to everything that is good and right in the world.

At the same time, we know that it's impossible for one side to ALWAYS be right and the other side to ALWAYS be wrong. So...my survey:

1. Do you believe your political party is ALWAYS right?

I don't even believe they are often right. For some time now politics have become more about opposing the other side then about supporter your side for many people.

2. a) If so, why? b) If not, where do you think your political party is/has been wrong?

I think my party goes way to far trying to advance the social values voters. I opposed impeaching Clinton and I think the part needs to move more to the center on health care reform. That just scratches the surface but it is what came to mind.

I am actually a piss poor republican and my politics are all over the place. I come off as very conservative here but that is becuase I am mostly deabting people on the left. Many of the people I know in RL are to my right and think I am fairly liberal.

3. Do you think that partisan politics have become too contentious?

I am not sure it really is all that much worse then it used to be but like most people I would like to more working together to accomplish something and less back biting. I think the new media is partly to blame with people now able to only get news from source that agree them. From talk radio on the right to the Daily Kos on the left
