burn more calories than you consume to lose weight. There are arguments to made about good carbs vs bad carbs and they are valid from a general health point of view but not always from a weight loss point of view.
You won't gain more weight from 200 calories of white rice then you will from 200 calories of brown rice. The white rice will make your blood sugar spike more and that might make you get hungry sooner but it won't change how much weight you gain.
So if you are willing to the price of feeling hungry sooner than you would have the occasional bad carb isn't going to affect your weight. Assuming of course that can ignore hungry for a little while.
