It is almost automatic for defeated/resigning Congressmen to immediately begin lobbying their former colleagues on behalf of one or more corporations, even whole corporations, just as many of them used their corporate credentials (and salaries) to get elected in the first place. It is not much of a stretch to say corporate America owns both parties in Congress, when we consider it pays most of their salaries before and after their Congressional tenure and finances their campaigns during it.
