Never mind, I think brainstorming is the word I'm looking for.
Some people can not do brainstorming with out being negative and seeing every thought/idea/whatever as a personal attack to the status quo or their won ideas.

This is a problem, like people taking offense to things. It is not YOUR problem to get around. It is THAT PERSONS problem for thinking that way.
