Some of the mainline denominations are members of the NCC (National Council of Churches) or the WCC (The World Council of Churches.) My own denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA) is in Open Communion with a few other denominations, which means that once a pastor is ordained in one, she is ordained in all of them.
In general, however, Ecumenism is not really practiced. The Orthodox and Catholic churches in particular are still all caught up in their "own true church" stuff, with the Pope recently declaring that Protestant sacraments were a mockery of the real thing. Ironically, in that same proclamation, he expressed hope that such a declaration wouldn't hurt Catholic/Protestant conversation.
I love how good conversation with the Catholics means that we don't get offended when they say we're going to hell. Of course, many Protestants return the favor, declaring the Catholic Church and any organization of denominations as signs of the anti-christ.
