He didn't care a thing about Harry Potter and he couldn't speak a word of Klingon. Geeks are some of the more culturally obsessed people out there and he was visionary who didn't focus on culture. Geeks are just weirdos he was more of a nerd.

I tend to think of it the other way around. Or synonymously, I admit.
