I agree. You do not want to get an abcess. Worst pain humanly possible.
By the way, did you file a complaint about that dentist? That sounds like the worst nightmare you can have. I'm surprised you didn't say that she started crackling with mad laughter.
I think she was doing her best. The molars can sometimes be very difficult to get out because of the deep roots. She did repair the damage done to the other tooth free of charge.
