The article really misstates the category. You don't have to be a "genius" to get an O or EB-1 visa. In one instance, an insurance salesman got it because he could show that he spoke to conventions all the time about how to structure insurance and sell it, and so he was considered to be an "expert" in the industry. Models frequently receive this sort of visa.

Frankly, I've never had a problem with these types of visas because the people who get them aren't apple pickers or ditch diggers. They bring talent (of one form or another) and, more importantly, money, with them. Who can complain when millionaires move to the US to buy homes, spend money and employ people in new businesses?

In this case, the "talent" may be somewhat specious, but the woman is still a minor celebrity and likely to generate more income, income that the IRS can tax. Besides, hot women should always be given visas absent something terrible in their background (al Qaeda support, multiple homicides, child abuse, etc. ).
