The star's only 10 million years old Isaac Send a noteboard - 09/07/2012 12:35:47 AM
Unless we're making some very big assumptions about how long it takes to evolve certain levels of intelligence/technology.

We don't really know how long it takes to go from warm molecular soup to inventing the wheel but this place would seem eliminated on a lot of grounds, I'd cite some but the weirdness occurring their makes some of those confident explanations a touch laughable at the moment

Still 10 million years just wouldn't seem plausible in the context of any sort of carbon-based D/RNA based life, compared to someone just thinking a brand new yellow star with all the material currently in the most convenient harvesting mode just seems more probable... within the admittedly thin zone of probability of 'alien constructor fleet' that is.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.

I am a little confused why we would seek stars emitting tons of IR as evidence of Dyson Spheres. - 09/07/2012 05:29:56 AM 480 Views
