Nowhere in this poorly written article is there any evidence that he left anyone behind on purpose. It states it as a fact, once, but there's nothing to support that. Everything else is written in a way to suggest the assumption he abandoned his family is a fact, except when refering to what the man himself said.
So, I don't get what your rage is all about.
Given they have clearly spoken to him to get his side of what happened next, it makes me wonder why they aren't able (or chose not) to present his take on what happened in the movie theatre.
It wasn't even clear to me who made it out first out, based on reading the story - it seems badly written and with a clear agenda. Pretty distasteful as well, given what those people went through, for elements of the media to go and try to undermine their relationship.

If you were in the Aurora theater with your infant, would you leave them him and run to safety?

If I were in the theatre I would rather die than expose my child to harm.

I was using shoving as in "putting somewhere" no actually pushing down.

I'm not blaming them for getting shot, just being so rude and thoughtless to begin with.
