I cannot understand parents who don't believe it is there responsibility to keep their children from being a general nuisance. There is a balance and some people think that since they chose not have children they should never be made to suffer the presence of children who are misbehaving and those people should be ridiculed and then ignored but to have their children actually moving your seat and the parents refusing to do anything about is ridicules. If that had been me I would have first made daughter apologize then I would have moved her to make sure you were not bothered again. Then again I like to think I have enough sense to realize there was a problem before you ever felt the need to mention it to me. When she was little she liked to look over the booth at other people and we had a hell of time breaking her of that we never just ignored it.
I take the attitude that if you are somewhere you should expect to have kids like say the 4PM showing of Brave and my kid's refusal to stop asking questions in her not very quiet whisper bothers you then I am sorry but go to a later show because she is six. If we are at a nice restaurant and 9PM and my daughter's whining that she doesn't like the food and wants to go is bothering then that is on me and I would whatever I could to correct it and I would start with an apology.

If you were in the Aurora theater with your infant, would you leave them him and run to safety?

If I were in the theatre I would rather die than expose my child to harm.

Yes, people are programmed to survive but they are also programmed to protect their young.

Programmed or conditioned behavior is not really worthy of praise or scorn, only conscious choice is

I was using shoving as in "putting somewhere" no actually pushing down.

I'm not blaming them for getting shot, just being so rude and thoughtless to begin with.
