which were low. but i actually loved it and got me quite excited for the olympics, which as a rule i find a little boring.

it started a little bit slow, but when i "got it" with them moving through ye olde britain to industrial britain and the forging of the olympics rings, it was pretty cool. lots of references to great british institutions and the moments through music was brilliant too.

i even enjoyed the nod to our "younger generation" with the british family life, boy meet girl, we're all digital tableau. the caldron was a design marvel, a beautiful copper feat of engineering.

and even though a lot of the opening ceremony tickets were overpriced. i would have paid a lot of money just to be sat there joining in when Hey Jude was sung by thousands of spectators, volunteers and athletes.

na na na nananana nananana hey jude.

That thing was madder than a bag of spiders.

I loved the bit where the evil Victorian industrialists invaded Tellytubby-land. And when the flock of Childcatchers tried to destroy the NHS.

Good job Mr Boyle.

More of a de-imagining, I think, given what inspired Tolkien. *NM* - 28/07/2012 11:09:33 AM 295 Views
