Frankly the Olympics is about having all the best athletes in the world competing against each other at the same time in the one location. If that means every participant is a professional, then I am okay with that.


the olympics *used* to be about the best athletes competing against each other, now it is about how much money those athletes can make for the olympics brand and merchandising.
