Though I largely share Praziquantels view; the days when conventions mattered for anything save rallying the base and free national ad time ended at least a decade ago. Watching now mostly leaves me angry with those at the RNC, throughout its duration, then alternately angry with them AND their opponents during the DNC. A generation ago, conventions still decided things, sometimes important things; now they just subjectively promote what has already been decided. Their primary remaining relevance is in who shows up to stump for the NEXT presidential nomination, and how well they do.
