This bill, which ironically became known as ObamaCare, was rammed through Congress with absolutely no consideration of the Republican opposition
Not to get all "Joel", but ObamaCare is Romney's plan from MA applied at the federal level lock, stock, and barrel. Not to mention that Republican input was meaningless when the Republican platform consisted of 100% obstructionism. He could've taken McCain's proposal from the election and the Republican party would've blocked it just as hard.
