As you pointed out in your original post, the Libyan government has apologized to us. I don't personally think that it means much, but they said the words.
I listened to Obama's speech and I didn't hear any apologies, just condemnation of religious extremists that provoke others and even stronger condemnation of religious extremists that resort to violence. I have no idea what the local embassy officials might have done before the whole situation blew up. Blaming all of their actions on Obama seems disingenuous to me, though I agree that Obama's actual response has been weak so far. It just hasn't been apologetic. Verbally attacking a weak government because they can't stop violent extremists in their own country probably wouldn't be the best choice.
I haven't heard of any reaction from the Egyptian government. It is possible that any coverage there has simply been overwhelmed because of the worse situation in Libya, but it also seems possible that the weak and questionable government there is incapable of acting for fear of even greater violence.

Question: did the Egyptian government apologize for letting a mob attack our embassy on 9/11/12?

I see: NO ONE EVER apologized to militants; Romney just wants to revive the "apology tour" lie.
