Regardless of anyone's opinion about the balance between govt and personal responsibility, the presidential candidate which half of the increasingly bi-polar US will support has openly said that his job is not to worry about those people who don't vote for him.
As an Obama supporter and one of the 47%, I honestly believe Romney was saying it was his job as a candidate, not as a President, to not worry about our support during the election, not that it was his job to not worry about us if he did get elected.
Because A) I don't believe he's an idiot, neither as a candidate nor as a potential President, and B) I believe the hyped interpretation would be against his own sense of morality.
But this will be a lesson for future candidates who hope to win by parroting the hyperbole of their base back to them.
