That sucks. I learned to drive in California. I'd bet at least 85% of drivers licensed in California don't even know motorcycles are allowed to split the lanes.

But I find, in general, that there are just bad drivers everywhere. It's amazing. Driving is so easy, yet so many people are just so very bad at it. I think the cause is mostly drivers not paying attention to their surroundings. People seem to forget they are operating heavy machinery.

I'd bet that if licenses were taken away more often for poor and dangerous driving, there would be more mass transit in this nation and what there is would be so much better.
