That sucks. I learned to drive in California. I'd bet at least 85% of drivers licensed in California don't even know motorcycles are allowed to split the lanes.

I had to look that up, actually (though I'm licensed in CT). I was so sure it was illegal but sure enough, in CA, it's perfectly fine. It seems extremely unsafe to me but hey, if it's legal, then that's cool.


Well, you can't just drive the whole way like that. That would be unsafe. It's allowed when traffic is very slow or stopped and when vehicles are stopped at a light.
