We are having dinner with my in-laws this weekend and she says to ask her brother for details because he knows more about it, but apparently they have also been having problems with idiots shining lasers at jet cockpits, and dealt with it by the simple expedient of banning powerful lasers. She says they can be bought online (as this one would be) but are not legal for sale within the country. Darned nanny state; next they will take my replicator, or my hydropon—er, never mind what other science projects they might take....

You would have to come up with a clever way of having them sent off in a way that doesn't alert the customs (do they check every package that comes through, or just the suspicious ones? I don't know.) I'd check if Sweden and Denmark have limits on Lasers. If not then just order it to post box or similiar in one of those and take a weekend road trip to pick it up.

Do not quote me on this, but I believe they usually inspect packages based on how they are labeled, though I am sure there are plenty of spot checks to be certain.

Yeah, that's propably the case.

Last time my mom sent a care package they asked permission to open it, but that was because they did not realize it was a gift rather than a commercial transaction.

Plasma produces far more collateral damage (potentially to the user) with far less utility. - 27/09/2012 11:46:39 PM 452 Views

This is totally on my Christmas list, but the wife says Norway DOES have "laser control." - 27/09/2012 11:49:50 PM 380 Views
Yeah, Finland has limits on laser's power too. The problem getting one would propably be customs. - 28/09/2012 06:56:31 AM 325 Views
