There is a big middle ground on social issues, and almost none on social programs.

Gary Johnson will probably pull more vote than the others combined, and he already had multiple debates to prove his worth, other than a truly excellent one-liner about dogs and job growth he doesn't have much to field.
As for their debating skills, I didn't hear quite the pauses and stutters that I heard in the televised debates *shrugs*
Low tension format? Seriously thought what would these people have to debate? I'm nominally libertarian so I'm sympathetic to that POV but I can't imagine what a Libertarian would have to say to a Green or what the point is of a debate between them watched by audiences that are principally one or the other, there's effectively no middle ground for a swing
A lot of common foreign policy ground, too. I would much prefer a Green vs. Libertarian election, even though the latter would probably stomp the former.

And yet issues that concern me were discussed here and not in the Obama/Romney/Biden/Ryan debates

I thought they needed better organizers, and a better questioner than that lady. *NM*
