As for the rest, what Rebekah and Snoop said. Blends are boring. Real whisky is single malts. I prefer salty maritime ones. That Dewar's slogan makes me laugh: it's pure marketing. But they do have a pretty good museum/exhibition at their Aberfeldy distillery.
I have heard there is a Chinese adage along those lines, but for excitement I recommend screwdrivers, or cutting to the chase with a 50/50 mix of Everclear and Dr. Pepper (Bacardi 151 will also do in a pinch.
