I'm going to write an essay that reviews John Thavis's recently-released The Vatican Diaries and the book Pope Francis co-wrote with Rabbi Abraham Skorka in 2010, Sobre el cielo y la tierra, sometime this weekend. I will note that terms like "liberal," "moderate," and "conservative" should be viewed with skepticism when applied to Catholic theologians, especially this pope.
