I don't know about you, but I see a new story (on FB or news) about food fraud almost every day. I guess probably some of it is down to my own naivete, but (for example) I didn't know they could dip oranges in a red dye that has been deemed carcinogenic by the FDA. Apparently, dipping it is acceptable because we don't eat the peel. Orange zest, anyone? And maraschino cherries are allowed to be dyed with a similar product, because they are judged to be primarily for decoration rather than ingestion.

I've been blabbing about the natural foods vs. processed foods for years, so you'll probably have heard that (and fats vs sugars), but this is the newest one.
