I live in the Boston area and help run a Firearms Licensing/Education facility. Signups have increased significantly.

The actual attack ended up being a wash in terms of public opinion on gun control, however the subsequent Hide n' Seek Shitshow that took place afterward got people to thinking that it might not be the worst idea to have a firearm at home Just In Case.

No one really feels like carrying concealed would have been relevant, though, except would-be ninjas. So it's important to distinguish that part of it from home defense.

For the record, I'm not against background checks or magazine limits, but that's neither here nor there.

I am going to regret asking this but here goes

But do you find it ironic the same week we have a bill about background checks die in the senate, that we experience a terrorist attack?

1) The terrorists didn't use guns, but doesn't it at least remind people about the need to at least have decent background checks before we give people deadly weaponry?

2) Does a major terrorist attack cause you to reconsider your opinion on the gun control bill? If it does not why doesn't it change your mind?
