I know the left blames the NRA and the evil republicans but they fact is Obama and the left has done a piss poor job selling the idea that it would do any real good. I lot of people may be willing to agree with the idea but not a lot of people see it a s solution to gun violience.

also, obama didn't filibuster the bill so that 60 votes were required to pass it. i think that the problem is that the bill was specifically about guns, it would have probably been much better to wrap it up in an anti-crime bill like in 1994. it's easy for senators to vote against gun restrictions, but it's harder for them to vote against strengthening local police forces.
