I wouldn't have taken it down. It's silly to have it removed. Too cartoon-ish. But next time, shoot the kettle from a different angle.

Edited to add: now that I have thought about for longer than 20 seconds, a company like JC Penney needs to be as sensitive as possible. I think it's a hilarious misfortune.
