Stand your ground laws were not an element of the criminal case. He never invoked them.

Following Martin in no way would have eliminated the stand your ground laws, nor his ability to plead self defense.

Trayvon possessing (or not) an object that can be labeled a weapon is not relevant to anything.

"The police" never told him to stop, it was a dispatcher with absolutely no police authority. That dispatcher did not "tell him to stop" she informed him that "we don't need you to do that" which is not a command. Even if that dispatcher was an officer of the law, and even if she had told him to "stop" he was under absolutely no legal requirement to do so. This was plainly spelled out in the testimony that you apparently didn't bother to follow.

You are plainly ignorant of the laws that apply to the state in which you live (as well as many of the particulars of this case that you insist on trying to comment upon). I recommend that you take some time and familiarize yourself with them. All of the relevant statutes are available online.

Both sides did not try to get him acquitted, the facts of the case precluded a conviction. - 15/07/2013 06:45:33 AM 574 Views
