Just as well my birthday is next month; most of the past year I have felt like 39 in all but name anyway. I definitely feel it more now than when I was 29, because my body still pretty much performed like it always had then, but now things are a little bit harder than they used to be, there is a little less stamina and energy, and when I notice a thickening in the midsection I can no longer banish it by simply skipping a few meals for a week. Basically, I have begun to feel my body wearing out, which was not the case when I turned 30; it was just a matter of no longer having an excuse to be immature. Oh, well, with age comes wisdom—right...?
