I've seen most of them before, and written in all seriousness. Hell, some of them even on this board.

Of course a few are over the top, but rhetorical device of hyperbole is a perfectly fine method to get your point across.


I have been beating the "hyperbole is fine if not meant literally" drum for a while; it is still always TAKEN literally. Which, of course, makes it VERY offensive.
