Really helpful.
I am just now realizing what a difference performing on camera is, compared to performing on stage. I love giving presentations on stage, trying to connect to an audience.
But the camera limits the movement of the speaker. You have to stay in a smaller space, or risk giving the audience seasickness. Projecting your voice also doesn't work in the same way, since you can't use your body movement, plus the mic will not automatically adapt like the human ear does. Any small movement (breathing in before emphasizing for example) is exaggerated on camera.
And the audio... Oh man. I am glad I just learned how to split video and audio, and how to clean up the noise, but otherwise I have a problem with it. It remains "tinny". And I was surprised to learn that the best mic we have in the house, actually belongs to our five year old camera. Not too shabby for an EUR 80, small Sony camera with a sucky zoom.
I'm glad the accent isn't too bad, but I will consider captioning next time. As for the content: I already got some feedback from within the scientific community, saying they think it's clear and concise. I understand the more technical parts will be difficult, even if I tried to keep it to a minimum.
