He has autism, so you can't just give him something different or he'll not have any interest in it. I think we're probably at a point where we'll do theatre vouchers for every gift since he loves going to the theatre.

You could always cook dinner one night for John's family. One of those awesomely cheesy promise vouchers or something where you say you'll cook and serve a dinner of their choice?
