A nice quiet night might be a nice change from those Strip nights.
You could rent a tent at LA and return it, if it's not too pricey.

I noticed last year: am getting too old to sleep in a tent. I did it for many summers around lakes and at rock festivals. But these days I need a bed underneath me to get some sleep and feel rested.
