Yeah, that's weird - you almost never hear about Cruz being born in Canada. Legolas Send a noteboard - 07/08/2015 09:49:32 PM

View original postA lot of his support I think is just the general anger on the right about things like immigration and the madness of PC grown out of control and Trump seem to funnel a lot of that madness. Last night he showed those who have not been paying attention that he really is just a huge dickhead bully and not the conservative warrior they thought he would be. I suspect he will see all of his support flow to Cruz. The fringe element really tends to be only one or two issues and anti-establishment is seen as goal in and of itself. Of course most them will forget the that they claimed Obama could be president because was born in Kenya.

I've already read several articles that say the same, that Cruz is hoping to pick up Trump's supporters when he inevitably crashes and burns. Cruz does seem like he has a good shot, much as I deplore it.

As for Trump in the debate, it was weird. I just really don't get the appeal - the way he acts, I wouldn't trust him to preside over so much as a tenants' meeting in one of his buildings, never mind over a country. He does have the merit of making everybody else look likeable and sane, I suppose - and, as long as he stays in the race, of hogging votes that would otherwise go to actually serious candidates that I don't like.
