Because a life is a life; pity so few US Catholics agree with their church on that point
My position on the issue is that I am personally opposed to it. I would never do it myself. I believe it to be wrong and a great tragedy. But I can't presume to judge someone who WOULD do such a thing, because I have not walked a mile in their shoes. I can't speak to the experiences or personal values that would incite or permit another individual to do such a thing, so I cannot, in good conscience, condemn a person who performs a terminal procedure on an abortionist.
While I understand your point, I still can not support it. What good is protecting one life to simply end another? And, if someone is willing to and feels justified in ending one life, what is to stop them from feeling justified in ending another? Are we keeping score, and it won't be even until 30 million abortion doctors are dead? We'd run out of abortionists quickly, so what then, do we kill those who aborted their own children?
I am sorry, Cannoli, but supporting, or even looking the other way, of the murder of a person dismisses any and all claims to being 'pro-life' and simply makes you 'anti-choice', as the aborts would love to label us all.
Yup. You had it right in the post to which he responded: Present conclusive proof a fetus is not only human and alive but a BEING and I will be front and center to oppose abortion in all cases where carrying the pregnancy to term would not simply kill mother AND child (sorry, Governor Walker, but no, there is not "always a better option out there;" I deeply wish there were, but I and everyone must live in reality, not my wishes.) Sadly, it is VERY hard to convince anyone something that does not even have brainwaves--nor even a BRAIN--is a being. There is a reason abortion support is inversely proportional to the length of pregnancy, and it is NOT Cannolis "out of sight, out of mind."
In a sense, radical Islamic militants DO believe they are protecting the ultimate innocence: Holiness itself. Why Almighty God NEEDS their protection, much less by means of committing a sin all religions agree He categorily condemns, and especially by committing against OTHER innocents, is unclear, but that is their belief--which is what makes them both irrational and incredibly dangerous: Just like Army of God. Playing the Klans game of "of course I would never MURDER these people, because that would be very wrong, but if YOU want to, these are their addresses" may satisfy the letter of SCOTUS rulings but remains reprehensibly immoral, unholy and the antithesis of "pro-life."
It is all fun and games till more doctors get murdered. Then, for some of us, it is apparently just fun.
