The less newbs there were, and the more oldbies moved on with their lives, the more it was just fewer and fewer people nursing and venting old grudges. I think that was diminished when there was still a semi-steady flow of newbs, because they provided a buffer, and a distraction. But once that stopped we just had a bunch of people pissed off at each other for countless slights over the years, that only got worse as watching the sites slow demise soured everyones mood.

Also, newbs came when there was a REASON to come other than watching strangers rehash years or even decades old fights. We need that something, though I cannot guess what it would/should be. I just know it is not literature alone, nor even primarily with some other entertainment sidelines, because we tried that, and it led here.
