So, my wife wants to start watching it since the reviews have been so good. The first season is over. Has anyone watched it? If yes, thoughts?

No hobbits, wizards, dragons, magical islands, etc. But is does sound like a well written and thoughtful show.
I guess I have to throw her a bone every now and then!
