Live oak don't do so well here though, and occasionally the red and white even struggle. Pin oak is right out. It's mostly to do with our soil pH-- even thought the nutrients are there, they can't take them up because we're too alkaline.

I'd say that based on how they grow here, the whites are probably my faves. We sell Swamp Whites.
