Other Possible Consequences of taking global warming seriously...

1.Self imposed energy tax does nothing but drive more industry to countries that care nothing about the environment, or human rights for that matter.
2.Attention shifts away from environmental threats we known are harming the planet right now and instead focus on something we think may cause problems in the future.
3.Responsible ways to use the abundant amount of domestic coal we have are ignored in favor of pie in the sky sources that never produce power at an affordable level.
4.Millions of people around the world are driven deeper into poverty because their food prices increased when do-gooders decided to burn food as fuel. Oceans suffer as nitrogen use increases to answer demand.
5.An entire generation is left disillusioned about science and politics when sky doesn’t fall even though carbon levels increased.
6. Oil companies move production outside the US to get away from a country that wants to punish them for making a profit. The economies of the Gulf coast cities collapse and national security is threatened as we have even less control of our energy supply.
You can have conservation of energy and work towards finding lasting energy sources without turn it into a religion that can’t be challenged. I didn’t used to be a global warming doubter but the more repeatedly see evidence against it being put forward and I see little in the way of answers to those challenges. Instead I see attacks on those who present the challenges and a lot of talk about ice and I am told I have to believe them because they are scientist.
