Nor is capitalism something that falls in line well with Christianity, which is the predominant creed of people in the Capitalist West (ie: America).
Erg. I don't even want to start thinking about running the govt based on what the predominant religion wants. Imo, that doesn't turn out well, and we're already fighting the cross-over.
A serious CHANGE is needed in this country, and not just the change of political parties.
Along the lines you're discussing, I don't think so. Yes, the govt does need certain regulations to make sure the really big companies can't run rough-shod over the little people (and there a billion facets to that, so I'm not getting into all of it), but we're all part of the mix. I'm a small fry, economically speaking, but I'd be hurting if we weren't Capitalistic, because if my clients weren't able to purchase my larger installations, who would? For your solution to work, we'd have to change EVERYTHING.
Capitalism is an oppressive economic system that helps only those who have money (capital), leaving the rest to suffer, or hope for that 1-in-a-million stroke of luck.
Most people are in that bracket and most of us are pretty happy. I have almost no capital, but I adjust my life around that. I can't buy the same things the rich can, but I don't believe things like that are a right either. Good food, health, housing, that type of thing sure, but not really the "right" to live my life however I want. Some of us need help, but the rest of us need to realize that we're going to have to do things we don't want to do, like maybe living an extra few years in a parent's home, working through college, etc.
Oh...by the way...we may have been wrong about that whole "Global Warming" thing
