I don't work (at least, not in a place where I could infect people).

A) Nobody likes to be sick - and a flu is a pretty nasty sickness with all the vomiting and pain.
True.
B) If you do not at least try to contain it, it will spread faster, and perhaps hit more of the people actually in danger from it.
Yeah. It just seems like, this being a university and all, nearly everyone has probably been exposed in some form or another.
C) If I were your employer and found out you had gone to work knowing you had an illness like this, you'd be fired as it is bad for business.

I'm more thinking of my classes... I just returned and am making up work from a longish absence, due to mental health reasons (was voluntarily committed, etc). I don't want to be a jerk and make anyone else sick, but I think it would really be pushing my professors' generosity (and my ability to learn) if I missed more classes now.
Also, regarding the flu... it is a general flu thing, so the symptoms may vary according to who has it... but in general most of the symptoms you have are included.
Hm, okay. Well, hopefully they will go away by tomorrow.

My understanding is that national emergencies have a lot to do with money/funds.

well. If you do have the sickness, it is quite rude to spread it.
